Purim Party
Shir Hayam Zoom RoomZooming into Purim February 27th at 4 pm. We are planning for Purim and it takes us all to throw a proper party! We are looking for folks to help perform the megillah, perhaps sing a tune, play an instrument to entertain us and poets to recite their Purim themed poems for the occasion. Spring Shabbat

Look forward to kiddush and a discussion based on this week’s parsha, Vayikra. We will send out 2 readings prior to the service from Rabbi Jonathan Sachs and also from Shefa Gold’s book, Torah Journeys. Rabbi Gold brings a modern and relevant interpretation of Vayikra, which is traditionally about sacrifice. Jonathan Sacks commentary about Hope and Optimism is also quite illuminating. Passover Seder
Shir Hayam Zoom RoomPASSOVER IS COMING! Save the date – Saturday, March 27th. This March, just like last year, we will celebrate Passover in our Shir Hayam Zoom room. The Ruach Committee is putting together a Passover evening as lovely as we all shared last year. Shir Hayam’s seder will be on the first night, Saturday, March 27. Time: 4-4:30 p.m. Shmooze and catch up with friends. Seder starts at 4:30 p.m. Stay tuned, more information will be coming soon.

LAG B’OMER

Lag B’Omer, traditionally a picnic to commemorate the passing of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, Lag B’Omer is also a celebration of the end of the plague in the time of Rabbi Akiva. We are planning to meet masked and in person in Caroline and Eric Steven’s garden. More details to follow.
Book Discussion/Potluck/Havdalah
Havdalah gathering at the home of Carol Shakow. At 5:00pm, we will have a discussion of the book In an Antique Land by Amitav Ghosh. There will be a potluck dinner. As evening approaches we will do a Havdalah ceremony.
