Super Supper Donation
Thanks to generous Super Supper Fund donations, the Chavurat made a $100 donation to the BI/NK Interfaith Council Super Supper Fund to cover costs incurred for compostable plates, napkins, & glassware. Thank you to all who support this program by including a donation to the program with their membership check.

Speaking of Super Supper – Holiday Mitzvah Opportunity: Denise Brown would like a sub for Monday, Dec. 28th’s Super Supper. If anyone is interested/able, please contact her at mailings@shirhayam.org or 780-0931. She will gladly assist/direct with all instruction. This would be a great opportunity to get kids involved with a little giving back to the community.

FOUND

Found at the Break the Fast service. Someone left a carving knife that I am sure that they are missing. It’s value is close to $100. If you know of anyone that attended that may not be on our distribution list, please forward this to them. I’d love to get it back to its rightful owner…since I already have one! Contact Denise: mailings@shirhayam.org or 780-0931

HAPPENING ON BAINBRIDGE

Please join us for a free showing of a documentary titled:  Beneath the Helmet: From High School to the Home Front.  This movie is open to the entire community.  Please invite, your friends, classmates and teachers.  it is a coming-of-age story, which follows the journey of five Israeli high school graduates who are drafted into the army to defend their country. At the age of 18, away from their homes, families and friends these young individuals undergo a demanding, inspiring journey, revealing the core of who they are and who they want to be. Beneath the Helmet illustrates how these young men and women are defending not only their homes, but also the values of peace, equality, opportunity, democracy, religious tolerance and women’s rights. The lessons they learn along the way are lessons that can be appreciated, understood and internalized by the film’s main target audience.beneaththehelment

The musical program features music from the Terezin, Lodz  and Vilna Ghettos, and works by composers whose lives were cut short by Nazi persecution: Gideon Klein, Zikmund Schul, Robert Dauber, Dick Kattenburg and Erwin Schulhoff.   This concert is presented with generous support from Jack and Adina Almo.
